Family isn't always defined by biology. It's often the bonds we form through shared experiences and love that truly define our connections. Over 20 years ago my granddaughter invited you into my home and through the years we have shared a bond akin to family. This bond is as profound as one based on biology.
Every block in this quilt represents a tale, a giggle shared during a sleepover, a soft whisper of encouragement after bandaging a scrapped knee, numerous special events or just sharing laughter and memories at our table. This quilt is not just fabric and thread; it's a tapestry of memories to an amazing young lady who might as well have had her own key to my house. You weren’t born into our family, but you sure did a splendid job of sneaking into our hearts.
Though the threads of time might pull us in different directions, this quilt is a reminder that family isn’t just about the ties we’re born with, but the ones we choose and nurture, the ones that hold us together through the patchwork of life.
